INTERACTION WITH MEMBERS Bray Comhaltas tutors and management work to the highest standards in the delivery of its teaching program. While each individual teacher develops their own teaching style, there is uniformity of musical outcomes. Tutors can cater for all levels from beginners to advanced and are keen to make a student’s experience in learning traditional music song and dance as enjoyable and productive as possible. Bray Comhaltas places a high value on the input of parents helping to develop their children’s musical abilities.
From time to time parents may request to talk directly to teachers. This can happen in the corridor or in the classroom at the discretion of the teacher. Parents may be advised if the content of the discussion should allow for the participation of the student or not. As teachers are required to teach during class time, the teachers may deem it inappropriate to have a meeting during a class time. Any discussion with a parent should not infringe on the class time of any other student. Informal interactions with parents enhance musical progress, however parents are advised that as the branch caters for many different categories of students, including adults, a strict decorum must be observed while in and around the building. In particular, family members not attending classes must be supervised at all times in order to minimize disruption to other classes and allow for safe movement of all users of the building, this also applies during events taking place in the building or organized by Bray CCE in other facilities.
Issues regarding teaching matters and students in classes must first be discussed with teacher concerned. If matters remain unresolved parents/students shall submit their concerns to the class co-coordinator If matters are not resolved concerns must then be submitted in writing to the branch secretary.
